
Atty. Joanna Marie V. Carrera is a Junior Associate of the Firm whose practical legal experience and academic excellence distinguish her as a promising member of the legal profession.
She obtained her BA International Studies major in International Politics from Miriam College where she received her Academic Excellence Award. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a delegate head in the Miriam College International Studies Model United Nations (MCIS-MUN), allowing her to hone her skills in identifying issues with precision, effective negotiation, and crafting innovative and sustainable solutions.
Notably, Atty. Carrera earned her Juris Doctor degree from San Beda University College of Law. She ranked 4th in her graduating class and passed the immediately ensuing 2025 Bar Examinations. While pursuing her law degree, she also served as the Auditor of the San Beda Law Student Government. Through this experience, she developed a strong foundation in governance and responsible leadership—qualities that would later prove pivotal in her legal career.
Prior to passing the Bar, she also worked as a paralegal. Working closely with practicing lawyers gave her the opportunity to be actively involved in legal research, drafting pleadings and contracts, case preparation, and litigation support. This experience provided her with invaluable insight into the demands of legal practice and allowed her to develop the analytical rigor and professionalism that she brings to every engagement.
Atty. Carrera’s exposure to leadership and legal practice enabled her to develop a disciplined work ethic and a practical understanding of the intricacies of legal advocacy. She takes pride in helping clients navigate complex legal matters and remains dedicated to providing sound legal counsel and effective representation across a wide range of concerns.
